Changes starting on April 30, 2025:
Effective from the first day of your statement period beginning in April 2025 and reflected on your May 2025 statement:
- Your annual interest rates on Purchases will increase.
- For Residents of Quebec only - Your annual interest rates on Cash Advances will increase.
Starting on April 30, 2025:
- We will increase the maximum fee for a promotional Balance Transfer. If you receive an offer, we will tell you the exact promotional Balance Transfer fee that will apply.
- We will apply a Credit Balance Administration Fee if there is a credit Balance on your Account and there has been no credit or debit activity on your Account for 12 consecutive billing cycles.
- We will change the Cash Advance Transaction fee, including how and under what circumstances we charge it.
- We will decrease the Returned Payment fee.
- You will earn more TD Rewards Points for these eligible Purchases:
- Public Transit, such as commuter subway, bus, railway, and ferries.
- Streaming, Digital Gaming & Media, such as cable and other streaming services, digital gaming and in-game purchases, digital applications, and digital music, e-books, and other media.
- Drinking Places, such as bars, nightclubs, and cocktail lounges.
- The TD Rewards Program Terms and Conditions have been updated to:
- reflect these changes to earning TD Rewards Points;
- provide instructions on where to find redemption information outside of the Terms and Conditions;
- clarify existing treatment of TD Rewards Points in certain situations upon Account closure;
- outline what we can do with the TD Rewards Program; and
- to clarify what you can do with your TD Rewards Points.
If you’re a Cardholder, please continue to use your existing Card and the changes will take effect automatically on the dates indicated above or in the comparison charts below. There's nothing you need to do.
Here’s what stays the same for existing Cardholders:

For residents of Yukon and Nunavut. There’s no change to the annual interest rate that applies to your existing outstanding Balance posted to your April 2025 statement. All new Purchases after your April 2025 statement will be at the new annual interest rate.

There’s no change to the value of your TD Rewards Points.

Your Card number, PIN and credit limit will remain the same, and there will be no change to your statement date.

There’s no change to any regularly recurring bill payments set up on your Card (such as Internet or phone bills).

There’s no change to any automated payments that have been previously set up on your chequing or savings account to pay your Card balance.

There’s no change to the other benefits and features included with your Card.

Section 2.4 We use Merchant Category Codes to determine the Purchase Category for Grocery Purchases and Restaurant Purchases. Merchant Category Code means the merchant category code that the Visa payment network uses for a merchant to classify its goods and services, which may be changed from time to time by Visa. Only Purchases using the following Merchant Category Codes qualify for the Grocery Earn Rate or the Restaurant Earn Rate: Grocery Purchases: 5411 Restaurant Purchases: 5812 and 5814 We do not monitor merchants to see if they correctly identify and bill Transactions according to a Merchant Category Code, or correctly identify a Transaction as a PAP. However, we do reserve the right to determine if a Purchase qualifies for a certain Purchase Category. Grocery Purchases means buying groceries or grocery items from a merchant classified through the Visa payment network using the above noted Merchant Category Code for Grocery Purchases. Pre-authorized payments or PAP(s) means Purchases set up by any Cardholder that the Cardholder charges to the Account. What are your TD Rewards Points worth when you redeem them for Travel Purchases? How you redeem TD Rewards Points, and what value your TD Rewards Points have, depend on how you made the Travel Purchase: Expedia For TD online and phone Every 200 TD Rewards Points are worth $1. You can only redeem in increments of 200 TD Rewards Points at the time of booking. Other Travel Providers For the first $1,200 of a Travel Purchase (equal to 300,000 TD Rewards Points): · Every 250 TD Rewards Points are worth $1. · You can only redeem increments of 250 TD Rewards Points After the first $1,200 of the same Travel Purchase (equal to anything greater than 300,000 TD Rewards Points): · Every 200 TD Rewards Points are worth $1 · You can then redeem increments of 200 TD Rewards Points. 3.5 How do you redeem TD Rewards Points for Other Redemption Options? We may let you redeem TD Rewards points towards items other than Travel Purchases (Other Redemption Options) including towards: Merchandise and services; Purchases at specific merchants; Education credits; Credit to the Account connected to the Program (you will still need to pay the minimum payment on the Payment Due Date); and/or any other manner that we may allow from time to time. To redeem for Other Redemption Options or to learn more about Other Redemption Options, visit www.TDRewards.com. When you redeem TD Rewards Points for Other Redemption Options, additional terms and conditions will apply and such terms and conditions will be available to you at the time you redeem for Other Redemption Options. We do not have to provide Other Redemption Options and can cancel or change them at any time, as we determine. |
3.3 How do you redeem TD Rewards Points for Other Redemption Options? In addition to Travel Purchases through Expedia For TD, we may let you redeem TD Rewards Points in other manners that we may allow from time to time (including for Travel Purchases made through a travel agency, supplier or provider that is not Expedia For TD) (Other Redemption Options). If the dollar value of the TD Rewards Points redeemed exceeds the full amount of any Purchase, we will not credit the Account for more than the full amount of the Purchase. If TD Rewards Points are redeemed for a credit to the Account, you will still need to pay the full minimum payment on the Payment Due Date, unless otherwise disclosed at the time of redemption. When you redeem for Other Redemption Options, your TD Rewards Points can be redeemed for a minimum value of 400 TD Rewards Points per $1 (Minimum Value). Other Redemption Options are limited-time promotional offers. 4.6 What should you know about your Travel Purchases made through Expedia For TD or Other Travel Providers? We are not a travel supplier or travel agency. Travel Purchases and any travel‑related arrangements that you make with Expedia For TD or Other Travel Providers are subject to the travel provider’s availability, policies and terms and conditions. It is your responsibility to know and to monitor the relevant policies, terms and conditions of the travel supplier, including but not limited to, cancellation and refund policies. We are not responsible for Travel Purchases that you make with Expedia For TD and/or Other Travel Providers, such as if they fail to honour any aspect of the Travel Purchases. This includes if Expedia Inc., and/or the Other Travel Provider enters bankruptcy or becomes insolvent (unable to pay debts), or any acts of God or other event that affect your Travel Purchases. Expedia For TD and/or Other Travel Providers policies may vary from time to time and may differ among travel suppliers. Taxes and Fees for Travel Purchases Expedia For TD and/or Other Travel Providers may charge you taxes, fees, charges, surcharges and levies for your Travel Purchase.
