With Tap to Pay on iPhone and the TD Bank app, you can accept all types of in-person, contactless payments right on your iPhone—from contactless card to digital wallet or wearable. No terminal or hardware needed. Tap to Pay on iPhone is provided through TD Online Accounting.
It's easy to get started. All it takes is a few simple steps:
- Open your TD Bank app on your iPhone and enroll in Tap to Pay on iPhone
- Enter the amount to be paid, then present your iPhone to the customer
- Your customer holds their card or device at the top of your iPhone, over the contactless symbol. When you see the "done" checkmark, the transaction is complete

Tap to Pay on iPhone is part of the new Get Paid Mobile functionality which allows TD Bank's Business Customers to accept in person contactless payments directly on their iPhone without any additional hardware. Tap to Pay on iPhone is only accessible from within the TD mobile app. Tap to Pay on iPhone allows clients to process payments simply by having their customers tap either their contactless cards, mobile wallets on their phones, or watches to our client's phone for payment. Clients interested in this service must have an Apple iPhone to enroll. Customers must have a Small Business Checking Account and Small Business Online Banking to enroll. The cost for collecting a payment via Tap to Pay in iPhone is 2.75% per each transaction. There are no monthly maintenance fees or additional fees. TD Bank Small Business customers enrolling in Tap to Pay on iPhone also enroll in TD Online Accounting.

Payments are canceled by navigating through Tap to Pay transactions. Customers must locate and select the appropriate transaction they would like to cancel. Once the transaction is selected, users would follow prompts to cancel payment. A payment can be canceled before it settled into the business checking account. If a payment has settled it cannot be canceled, it must be refunded.

Yes, all admin users have the capability within Small Business Online Banking to create sub-users for Tap to Pay on iPhone. These sub-users do not have access to Online Banking transaction information, but are able to process contactless, in-person payments via their own login information in the TD mobile app.
Enrollment, via the TD Bank mobile app, takes a few mins to complete. Once the enrollment is complete, the TD Small Business customer will receive an email notification. The approval process for Tap to Pay on iPhone is automated and approval can be received via email within minutes. If a manual review is required, the approval process can take two business days.
At this time, Tap to Pay on iPhone is specifically designed to use on compatible Apple iPhones and currently not offered by Apple for iPads. Tap to Pay is currently not available on Android phones but will become available at a later date.
