Connected Communities

When people are included and empowered to participate in their community, good things happen. We’re committed to improving access to the opportunities people need to participate and feel a sense of belonging in their community. Read more about our commitment (PDF)

What we believe

  • Embracing diverse arts and culture

Breaking down barriers to the arts for diverse, under-represented and emerging artists.

  • Addressing local needs

Helping those who face social isolation build connections in the community.

  • Creating shared experiences

Increasing access to events and activities where people come together, celebrate and support one another.

Our beliefs in action

Supporting new artists and making art more accessible for all

Art for all audiences—that's the mission of The Shed in New York City. And through our support of "Open Call," we help The Shed develop and present new work from artists who haven’t yet received support. Our funding also gives priority tickets to those who typically can't afford access to the arts.

Showing our pride for the LGBTQ2+ community

We encourage everyone to be proud of who they are. Throughout North America, we support over 160 LGBTQ2+ programs and initiatives and participate in 83 Pride festivals.

Reimagining art education for kids in Orlando

All kids deserve access to the transformative power of the arts—but COVID-19 created real challenges for organizations like the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. Our grant helped them sustain modified summer camps, giving kids from underserved communities safe and free access to their programs.
