Guide to TD's Analyst Centre

See what analysts think about a certain stock and how those analysts’ success rate compares with their peers.

Key Takeaways

  • It's your one-stop shop for ratings and price targets by analysts
  • All information is provided by a third-party company called TipRanks that evaluates public analyst ratings and ranks those same analysts based on the accuracy of their performance.
  • For each rating you'll see the company name and symbol, the rating itself, the name of the analyst and the firm they work for, the rating for the analyst and the price target.
  • You can even choose to follow an analyst if you want to keep an eye on their specific ratings.

TD’s Analyst Centre gives you access to investment information from industry analysts. It lets you see how the analysts rate different securities and the analyst's rankings as well. Analyst ratings are issued by financial analysts who monitor and report on a particular company and its financial state. Analyst ratings are usually issued as either Buy, Hold or Sell but may adopt a different terminology. Analyst ratings also typically come with a 12-month target price for the stock. Analyst rankings are depicted by the number of stars (up to five) next to the analyst's profile – more stars correspond to better performance. Analyst rankings are determined by TipRanks and are based on an analyst's relative performance against their peers for all ratings made since 2009. You can even view changes in company ratings as they happen throughout the day.

You can use the trending stocks tab to see which stocks are getting analysts’ attention. And if you’re looking for something specific, you can filter stocks by factors such as rating, time-period, market cap, and sector. Use changes in analyst opinions to help uncover emerging trends in the market and compare analysts by their success rate, past performance and peer rankings.

Ratings provided by analysts can be used to supplement your own research and to help you make your own investing decisions.
